Changin' the look & my 6 weird things...

Sorry, I had to change the look of my blog. I didn't realize my brother's other blog (which I only saw for the first time today) was a similar setup. I decided to pick a new look. I saw this "pink template" earlier, but liked the dark dots and picked that. Now I think I am back to the pink one. Holly you will probably like it! Pink just makes you feel like a princess. (Sorry to you males. You won't know what that feeling is like.) Hopefully I will stay with this one! Of course as some of you may know (like Robin) I don't like things to stay the same. I have to move things around every now and then. It makes things seem fresh & new. Robin & I loved to move our furniture around when we lived in Cathcart our freshman year at Harding. When we were in Sears the next 2 years the furniture was fixed against the walls & floor and didn't move. We got really bored one afternoon so we switched closets! (I guess this is one of my "weird things".)

Since I am on the subject I may as well continue the list. I think there are supposed to be 6 things, but am not sure. Here goes...

1. See the above paragraph about moving things around. Just to let you know this continues on when I am teaching. I move the students desks around every 3 or 4 weeks. Mostly to help with discipline problems. The funny thing is when I taught preschool I insisted on keeping the room the same so the children would know what to expect. I did change it when the students went on to the next class.

2. I like to leave extra money stuck in pockets of my wallet. Like a $10 bill. I think this stems from being out one time & thinking I didn't have enough gas in the car. My sis & I had to scrounge around for $2 in change to get gas. (Back then gas was less than a dollar a gallon!) The funny thing is that I now have a Visa Check Card. I can always go to an ATM or just use the card where ever I am. So now I wonder, why do I keep putting the money in my wallet?!?

3. When I go to bed at night none of my doors can be open. This includes the closet door. I don't even like to have the window open. I used to insist on a door being open when I was growing up. (Claustrophobia) I also had to have a light on. In college it changed. I got used to sleeping in the dark, but had to have the door closed. Now I also have to have a fan on. It can be freezing in my room, but I have to have the noise to put me to sleep.

4. I get obsessed about strange things. Shoes, purses, baskets, etc. I love to buy more. Or at least look at them even if I don't have the money to buy anything. Yet at certain times, if there is something specific I want, I won't settle for anything except the very thing I want.

5. I can't stand certain types of food that are staples for most people. For instance, I hate bananas. I know, you are thinking "What?!? She's really weird!" (I do love banana nut bread, though! Go figure.) I also don't like jelly & yogurt. I can't stand apple pie or fruit pies, but love apples and other fresh fruit. Lastly, I do not like croutons. Something about the crunchiness in my salad. A few of you know about the crouton thing & will just take them from me if they happen to come on my salad. (Right, Holly!) I don't like other foods being crunchy either: bacon & bread.

6. I am really shy in a crowd or when I have to speak in front of a group of people, but when I am with my friends, family, or my students I am usually the one talkin' up a storm. Most of you wish I would probably just shut up!

Alright, I guess those are my 6 weird things. There are probably a ton more & most of you are thinking, "Why didn't she add this one, or that one?" Just remember that if I don't see all the weird things about me, you may not see all the weird things about you!
