School has been going really well for the past few weeks. The students & I have pretty much gotten into our routine. Only a few kinks left in the armor, so to speak. There is one small problem, the students don't want to stop talking & get down to work. Everytime we switch subjects the students start to talk when they get their books or move from class to class. I have to spend 5 to 10 minutes settling them down. It gets frustrating at times. Anyone have any advice? I have tried giving them a few minutes, but they only take more!! I try bribing them & they don't seem to care.
How do you also teach the students to follow the rules, not because of consequences, but because it is the right thing to do. I have one student who almost refuses to follow our hall procedures unless I am watching him. It is like he does what he has to in order to obey if he absolutely has to, but not because the whole school has to follow the rules. What can I do to motivate him to do the right thing?

Tonight was a beautiful night. I think the weather here in Florida has finally begun to change. The days are still hot, but the mornings & the nights have been a little cooler. After going to a volleyball game at the Bible School where my mom teaches, we came home & stood outside for a while, because the temperature had cooled down quite a bit. The sky was so beautiful as well. I think God has a really great time creating the skies in Florida. I have begun to really see how awesome his creation can be when I see the skies of Florida.
