Remembering

It's interesting being a teacher & observing each of my students. I know many years down the road I will remember each student in a different way: the talker, the class clown, the "genius", the best behaved student, the trouble maker, the one who drove me up the wall, etc. What I really wonder is "How do my teachers remember me?"

What kind of student do you think you were??

Mirella,
I would be lying if I said teaching was easy. Many people have no idea what goes into teaching. They think "Must be nice to work from 8 - 3:30 & have the summers off." They don't realize that teachers don't stop working at 3:30. We take papers home to grade, lesson plans to write, data to interpret, etc. Not to mention that the students are constantly on your mind even when you aren't at school.

Teaching is a very difficult job, very time consuming, but it is also one of the most rewarding jobs you can have. Seeing the students' eyes light up when they discover something new. Hearing their reading develop to new levels over the course of the year. Watching them make mistakes, but then learn from them. Hearing them relay all of the fun things they learned at school. Each year I teach is different. Some years it is a struggle & I feel like I don't know if I want to continue, but other years you think "This is why I became a teacher."

Everybody has to make the decision for themselves, but if you have a passion for children, then I say go for it!
